The Yardeners of St. Clair Shores
The Yardeners of St. Clair Shores is a
not-for-profit group of gardeners dedicated to achieving beneficial
environmental and ecological results by teaching and practicing earth-friendly
gardening techniques. We encourage using Michigan native plant material,
landscaping for wildlife, composting and integrated pest management to eliminate
the use of chemicals. The group includes MSU Extension Master Gardeners,
MSU Master Composters, Earth Patrol, Beautification Commission members, and
gardeners from local and outlying communities.
All money raised by the group is put back into
community programs and projects. Some of these include the St. Clair Shores Nature Center,
Michigan Nature Association, St. Clair Shores Waterfront Advisory Committee, Macomb
Land Conservancy, the
August garden tour and much more.
