  • maintains meeting minutes for all City boards and commissions
  • administers oaths of office
  • receives nominating petitions for verification for Mayor and City Council offices
  • accepts and processes applications for City boards and commissions
  • administers elections

  • issues licenses for various special events and temporary signs
  • custodian of municipal seal and executes official documents
  • processes birth and death certificates, forwards them to the state for recording and prepares reports for the county and state
  • provides records and documents requested under the Freedom of Information Act
  • maintains lists for local organizations and homeowners groups
  • sells street, precinct maps and voter labels
  • copy's and distributes ordinances
  • processes applications for liquor license, temporary signs and sign arbitration cases
  • conducts the hiring and promotional process for Police and Fire Departments under the direction of the Act 78 Civil Service Commission and General employees
  • maintains postings for City job opportunities
  • reviews and forwards City documents for recording
  • processes the City's incoming and outgoing mail
  • prepares new St. Clair Shores resident packets
  • schedules city hall meeting rooms for various groups & committees
