Invitations to Bid/Request for Proposals
 

FOR RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION

Sealed Proposals are invited and will be received by the City of St. Clair Shores for collection of solid waste at the City of St. Clair Shores, 27600 Jefferson Circle Drive, St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081, at the office of the City Clerk until 10:30 A.M., EDT Friday, May 23, 2008 at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for at least ninety (90) days.

Bid documents may be examined at the office of the City of St. Clair Shores City Clerk and may be obtained on or after Monday, May 5, 2008, at 1:00 P.M. at the offices of Anderson, Eckstein and Westrick, Inc., 51301 Schoenherr Road, Shelby Township, Michigan 48315. There will be a $25.00 NON-REFUNDABLE charge for each set of contract documents received. There will be an additional $15.00 charge for each set mailed. Bids may be rejected unless made on the forms provided in the bidding documents.

The City will host a pre-bid conference on May 12, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. EST, at the City of St. Clair Shores City offices. Attendance is mandatory for all bidders. A bid will not be accepted by the City unless a representative of the company attends the bidder’s conference.

A certified check, bid bond, or cashiers check made payable to the City Treasurer in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the first year's bid must accompany each proposal plus a letter of faithful performance. The deposit of the successful bidder shall be forfeited if he/she fails to execute the contract and bonds within twenty (20) days after award by the City Council.

The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities, or accept any bid in the best interest of the City.
